My glock 23 slide would not lock back after the last round. Is this something I can fix or do I have to send it to a gunsmith?. I would appreciate if someone can give me an idea. Thanks.

If it does it with one mag, it's a mag problem. If it does it with multiple mags, either your grip is preventing the slide stop from engaging the slide or your slide stop spring isn't installed properly.

I've run across several Glocks where the owner didn't know that you must replace the locking block pin BEFORE installing the slide stop lever. Reverse that, and the slide stop lever spring gets crunched.

    .

    It happens quite often.

Ya'll beat me to it. Was going to say I bet the slide stop was put in before the pin.

Vbart1955: If you or anyone else has ever taken the gun apart, skinny pin always goes in before the slide stop. Otherwise you will have issues with the slide locking back mid-magazine, not locking back on an empty magazine, and so on.

If you use a thumbs forward grip this is sometimes the culprit. You may be hitting the slide release unknowingly with you thumb.
