So this guy on LA Sportsman is selling 2 used Glock 26’s that are both used Gen 3’s…. I have never claimed to be a gun guru, but he has them listed at $625 per gun… I thought at first he was asking $625 for both because that would be a fair price for 2 guns that are around 15 years old. Especially being that the Gen 5 Glock 26 is running around $525 or lower in most places. My deal that I was trying to make with him was a brand new Glock 48 MOS with a Holosun 407k, TLR7 sub, two 15 round Shield mags, two 10 round factory mags, a Skullhead iwb kydex holster, suppressor height night sights, extended mag release, extended slide release, extended slide stop, and factory box for both Glock 26’s. My guy wanted to make a straight up gun for gun trade. Not both, one gun for one gun…. Then he said he would give me both Glock 26’s for my entire setup plus $300 on my end…. Am I losing my mind here? Also he wanted to sell me a Springfield XDS and XD 9mm’s for $525 per gun…. Can anyone help me out here? His name on LA Sportsman is Cfav10. I’m not sure he is on here, but if he is just watch out for this guy…. We have to stick together as gun enthusiasts and be able to accept suggestions on our pricing… Any positive and reasonable comments would be appreciated.

Gen 3 Glock 26 sell for around $499 new. Gen 3 Glocks are still being produced brand new til this day. A G48 sells for around $499 new. Seems like a fair trade to me minus all of the attachments.

It's really pretty simple-don't make the deal. No need to out the guy for wanting a decent price for his pistols.

The deal you tried to tickle him with apparently didn't hit the right spot.

Move on, life is too short.

You have to realize worth is what someone is willing to pay, G48 is $448, G26 gen 3 is $499, gen 5 is $529. Of course all depend on where you get them. Maybe up to $100 more for the MOS version. The 43X is more popular than the 48 if you research them both.

    In my mind G26 is worth $400 for a gen 3, and $450 for a gen 4, $500 for a gen 5.

I had the 43X very happy with it, but it never concealed right for me, so I sold it and the 43.

I did what you did, only you went further……. Put lipstick on a pig. I only lost about 10%, but I didn’t take it too far. I realized 3 S15 mags, a custom $100 holster, night sights, light, 6 mags, I had about $1,100 into a $500 gun.

A Glock quandary, keep it stock, reliable and reasonably priced or Gucci it out and lose money on a resell.

Many people on here want a gun cheap, then want to sell it high, as in recoup every dollar they put into something.

All the things you did to your pistol don’t necessarily make it worth that much more, as in $ for $. When you try and sell to gun like that, a Gucci Glock, you lose money. You can sell it as a package set or part it out. It depreciates quicker than a new car.

So bottom line for me, I would sell your stuff as best I could, and offer him $400 for his gen 3 with a couple/3 mags. Maybe up to $450 if it’s in grest condition.

So says the guy selling his used glock setup for retail....

You can't complain about someone selling high if you yourself is doing the same.

    Just going by avg price

    Glock 48mos ~500
    Rmrcc~500
    Tlr7~150
    S15 mags x 2 ~100........$1250

That doesn't include any military/Veteran discounts you might have gotten.

I don't like giving my stuff away so I don't price low. I also don't publicly blast someone for selling high..

Mike, I know someone that texted you a pretty equal $ trade offer for your guns, with trade items you listed, and you didn't bother to reply or counter...and now you're publicly shaming a guy, and trying to get other people to pile on to him, that is offering you trades? You seem like a challenging person to work with.

He's not being outrageous. It's easier to sell fairly priced guns with add-ons, that are not included with an increase reflecting their retail value, but you'll make the most money breaking it down and selling parts...it's a time/effort thing.

We do need to stick together, but not in the way you suggested. Some trades just do not work out, and it's better to move on with grace instead of with rectal pain and hurt feels.

Something is only wort what someone is willing to pay for it...... Just because some one thinks they can overcharge for a used item when you can go buy a brand new one for a cheaper price with a factory warranty. Just like going into a pawn shop trying to sell something and they offer a very lowball offer and then turn around and try selling it for 2 or 3 times more than they paid for it. .............. drill sgt.

I bought a 19 and a 23, both gen 3 from 2 different members here for $400 each within the past couple of years. They were both in immaculate condition with everything they came with. They were obviously hardly fired. The 23 actually still had the copper colored antiseize grease in it and looked unfired. I can’t say I’d pay much more for a used Glock unless it came with extras.
