I plan on exhibiting at a couple LA gun shows before the end of the year, I know the Gonzales show is well attended and plan on being there. Has anyone been to the Bossier City gun show? Does it draw a big crowd? Would appreciate any input or recommendations on other shows. I will be selling firearms (AR-15, AR-10, handguns) and reloading supplies processed brass (223 .330blk, 9mm) bullets, powder, primers, progressive presses and dies.

I've heard from friends that work for the great southern show group that Lafayette is one of their better selling shows, for some reason alot more of the folks that show up there seem to buy. Others on this board that actually attend may be able to give you first hand knowledge of how true this is.

I sometimes go to the Kenner show. When I buy, I am normally aware that there are better deals online, so its normally only for small ticket items I don't want to wait on. No deals = no sales.

I was thinking about doing the Gonzales show in November, we did a craft show for a charity and everyone would come up and say how nice our stuff was, but then they didn't want to pay for something nice. IMO our prices are reasonable, especially considering what a cardboard belt or suede embossed holster cost.

I do not mind paying for quality. However, I don't want to pay significantly more for an item plus tax at a gun show, than I could pay for the same item plus shipping online.

Thank you all for your input, I have not worked a gun show before and still deciding whether it is worth the cost of tables. I have a good idea now of the pros and cons of gun shows. It looks like the key is keeping competative with online pricing, and offer tax free purchases. But you have to realize the advantage of being able to fingerprint the firearm before you buy, not having to pay an FFL for a transfer, and being able to walk out with a gun in your hand. Thanks again.

I have tables at the shows in Kenner, Lafayette, and Gonzales on a regular basis. This past weekend I had 4 tables in Bossier City. The Bossier show was a home run. I am very much considering doing that show again even though it was a ~5hr ride each way. PM me if you have any questions.

Definitely hear you on this. As long as it's not a big difference I'll never hesitate to pay a little more for a gun in hand.
