    welcome

    what do you do?

What kind of shooting are you into?

    Thank you!

I currently work for an industrial electronics repair company...been repairing electronics since I was in junior high! hehe

Growing up my dad somewhat forced me into some skeet-shooting events. I ended up being pretty good (I was the only kid with a single-shot crack-barrel 410). Still love a good skeet-shoot.

I've never been able to justify the purchase of a hand-gun until recently and ended up with a Springfield XD9 which I now enjoy very much. My target Ruger 10-22 has been sitting because of it! :D

    Howdy!

If you want to practice indoors, Barney's up toward Carencro is the closest. Not a bad place. I used to be pretty bitter about the place, but last I went, for my CHP class, it wasn't so bad at all.

I tend to drive up to Krotz Spring area, and go to the Sherburne WMA shooting range. It's free, assuming you have some sort of hunting/fishing license or wildlife stamp. 50 yard pistol/rimfire range, and a 100 yard centerfire rifle range. They also have a couple shotgun throwers too.

For competition... since you have an XD9, you might look into USPSA matches. Every 3rd Sunday out in Gonzales at the East Ascension Parish Sheriffs Range. There are threads about it every month in the Competition section of the forum. There is one coming up on the 20th. My first match was back in October. They are a -very- friendly group to newbies and so long as you're safe, they'll do what they can to help you fit in and get by.

    Bienvenue, What do you shoot?

I own/shoot an XD9 pistol, Winchester and Remington shotguns, Ruger 10-22 target rifle, and I have some other nice pellet rifles too. I have also sold guns I thoroughly regret.

We know someone at the New Iberia Sheriff range so we go there. I'll go anywhere the people are nice honestly.
