AAR for Kenner Academy. There was a few people there. Kinda crazy for academy. I figured all the crazys would be at the bigger stores. I got 20 boxes of 333 winchester for 8.99. Makes a good gift.

my wife went by academy today to get some stuff for our son, and I had her ask about the $100 pistols. She said the counter guy just laughed, cause they were looooong gone.

Set my alarm for 0430 and was standing in front of the Academy on Airline by 0450. It was mostly organized with a special line for those purchasing firearms and had a relatively organized method for filling out the paperwork but it still took 2 hours before I had my new .22 revolver. The wait did give me a chance to grab 500 rnds of WWB 9mm along with some other items.

Arrived at Academy on Siegen 4:15am; third person in line.

Employees came out several times with wristbands marked for each of the three firearms on special sale.

Guns were in a safe at a special customer service table.
Guy said that was the first time ATF phone line had been busy when he called.
12 minute telephone hold for a person to come on the line and approve.

Picked up the 333 rounds of .22LR and was escorted to checkout with revolver.

Back home for 6:00 am. (two hours from the time I left home)

    Wife woke up about 7:00am

    Mission accomplished. :D

Really very impressed with Academy personnel at Siegen store.
    Friendly and organized.

Thanks for the tip CalvaryJim

Well.. make the long story short with my little run in... I got to academy at about 415 or so.. got in line... 2 and a half hours later I finally filled out my paper work. He called it in as normal then said sorry, we have to put yours on hold, it can take up to 30 days and we will call you to come pick up the pistol!! Thats is.. no reason.. nothing... just kiss my ass and we might call you back. Now i'm mad, got up at the ass crack of dawn to get this little thing and go home empty handed. So I call up the local gun shop and they have the same pistol with the 22. mag cylinder and the laminate grips on it for 40 bucks more.. YAY.. my wife then filled out the paper work and i'm off with my new gun. So I wasted 3 precious hours this morning effing with academy. But I have to admit i'm glad i didn't get it cause i got a nicer piece this time.

I prolly would have left the second part out, but YMMV

I got one today. One of the last ones they had. A shitload of the PT-111's were left, though. Order form in the box says $19.95 for the .22MAG cylinder!:boink:

Got my son one today, We were the first in line for it in Lafayette. He put 24 rounds through it after lunch. He got a leather holster for it and now he likes that one and doesnt want to mess with the P22 we just bought. Its a cool gun, Finish isnt great but gun is solid and trigger is nice.

Has anyone had one put on hold like they did me? He said it is b/c they could be overloaded and said it was normal but still. I've never heard of that. Oh, I also didnt provide my social.. that may have something to do with it. And that other pistol is now my wifes.
