What about the hammer? I mean dang..

I normally like the smell of fired gunpowder, but, I can't imagine that if anyone fires this weapon... Never mind.

Was it loaded? Who cleared the weapon once found? With DNA testing I'm sure there was plenty of evidence to show who actually was packing the heat.

The above link goes into a little more detail...but is missing the priceless interview with the Sheriff. The gun was unloaded, but Ward is wanted on a murder charge. So I guess the gun will be test fired for ballistics. Yuck.

Reminds me of sometime back when someone was booked into prison, and had a concealed pistol in his fat folds that made it through all the checks. I have never been arrested and booked into prison, so I don't know the process, but wouldn't a normal metal detector that many of us walk through daily, reveal something like this? I would think at some point getting booked into prison would involve walking through a metal detector?
