    So there's this site that works as a portal for live sports etc. Kind of like Watch-Movies.net.

    I've watched some football games on the site in the past.

    I clicked on it just now to see if I could catch the Hornet Game and saw this;

    This happened a few weeks or months ago. They grabbed a lot of sites that were violating copyright and/or selling bootleg merchandise. It's not just sports related things.

    Because Homeland Security is your National Police Force. Think about it.

    We always dreaded having a national police force...we have one.

    Did it sneak up on you?

    And run by people appointed, not elected. With more power than the SS ever had.

    Bring on the tinfoil :(

    They're not seizing "sporting sites" they're seizing sites illegally streaming copyrighted content. Looks like they had a warrant issued by a US Attorney. In other words, DHS didn't decide to shut it down, they're just the ones with the power/jurisdiction to do it.

    I don't see any issue here, save your tin foil for another day.

    Gotcha, so your primary issue with DHS is the name?

    Nope, primary concern is why were they formed, for what purpose and who controls their expansion in what areas of law enforcement. I 'm reading all I can find on that now, which isn't much, but here is a start:

    "Homeland security is an umbrella term for security efforts to protect the United States against terrorist activity."

    OK, That's why it exists, but what has it and what will it become? And if they get big enough, will they, whoever "they", are will they decide that the citizens have too many freedoms....like ...say firearms that hold too may rounds? It could sure be a threat to "them". Or just the ownership of firearms in any form. It will, it already has, grown very fast. Who holds the checks and balances and accountability of this big government organization?
    The idiot in charge has already said ex-veterans and other organizations are potential terrorists. Us. Citizens.

    I yield the remainder of my time. :D

    So, they shut down and seized websites that were interfering with the profitability of the NFL and others. Maybe they are just big football fans.

    I'm sure that is a big terrorist threat.
