I have two buckets of brass.

    Estimate 5000 rounds 5.56 and 3500 rounds .45

Just spent- nothing done to it, all definitely once fired factory name brand (I only pick up my own brass so I don't have to worry about picking up someone else's too many times fired stuff).

Anyway, just curious, how much might this stuff be worth, fair price?

Not really planning on selling it, just wondering.

I suppose I might, though, and use the money for a press and whatnot.

    Well, I don't have a press now.

If I don't get a press, I will still buy my next 10,000 rounds, but have no press to reload them. If I trade what I have now for a press, I will still probably buy thousands of more rounds, but have nothing to reload them with. Either way, they are just sitting there now. But no, I didn't police them to sell them. I'm sure I will load them someday.

It's not like I couldn't afford a press, I just never prioritize it.

I haven't done much research on non-match ammo components, but given the fact that you can save 1/2 - 2/3 of the price of typical 55 gr ball bought in case lots, you would pay for the cost of a first rate reloading set up with substantial whistles in 4,000 to 5,000 rounds.

On top of the savings, the equipment you buy would have value if you desired to resell it.

Like I have said before, anyone who shoots in volume is a fool if he does not reload.
