How does a widow, who knows nothing about guns, go about selling her late husband's gun collection assuming the immediate family does not want the collection? Are there companies here in Baton Rouge who would handle a situation like this?
Thanks again to all who replied. The question was a hypothetical question asked by a female friend, whose husband is still alive thank goodness! But she wanted to know the process for selling his guns, should he die. And now she knows because of all you good folk.

Definitely don't tell her to bring the guns to see what they are worth. My exwife during the divorce took all my guns to Collectors Firearm to have them appraised. The appraisal value for the guns was less than whT I was going to offer her for her half. Plus she had to pay the $3k appraisal fee. And of course Collectors offered to take them off her hands. Probably for 70% of their appraisal value
