After work this morning I drove out to the BREC Observatory at Highland Road Park to visit my fellow Ham radio operators from the Baton Rouge Amatuer Radio Club. They were set up for the annual ARRL Field Day contest and I wanted to see how they were doing and get in a bit of radio time if I could. WAFB showed up about the time 10meters opened up and one of the operators turned over the radio to me to use. The first station I made contact with was in Cuba. I then racked up contacts in Virginia, Florida, Texas, Kentucky and a few other states. Meanwhile the WAFB camera was rolling. The segment came out at 5:30 this afternoon. I pop up at 36 seconds in sitting at the radio with my headphones on and then grab my pen to write down a callsign of a contact.

I had to cut my time short because I was headed to meet Paul at Manchac Park. I had a good time while I was at the observatory.
