GD and JP definitely set up some nice shotgun stages. I smoked the Texas star before it moved. IPDA is a different beast in its own right. All in all it was a good, time, beautiful day, and they let aroundLSU run it with a silencer.

It was good match, but it was a bad day for me I joined the club of DQ.s. I had a good run going of 3+ years. It happens to the best and I will learn from it

Anybody who missed this match, missed a full...and I do mean full...day of great shooting. Great day at the range. Kudos to Robert and Bill for a fine pistol match...outlaw IDPA is a nice change of pace. And a big round of applause to Joe and Tommy for the super scattergun fun...the "trail run" was a hoot! Someone has to take the initiative so we can play: sometimes we don't thank all these people enough for their efforts. :hi5:

Appreciate all the tips on got on running my new Benelli effectively...suffice it to say I know what to work on...getting a shell in the chamber is definitely on the list  . Since the Iberia Sheriff's range no longer allows steel...effectively nixing SG practice...I'm going to see which of my brother-in-laws wants to fire up his welding machine and built some clay holders out of rebar. Then off with 200 rounds of Remington #7 1/2 to find an empty field ;)

    Pictures!

I posted the pictures of me and two of the other BayouShooter members I knew. If I didn't post pictures of you let me know what you were wearing so I can look through them and see what I didn't post.

They are on my flickr here:

If you want to print any click "All Sizes" and then "Original" then take it to Wal Mart on a disc.

Nice shooting with you. As an ex-medical/advertising/newspaper & magazine photog, I enjoyed how you shot one stage complete with camera around your neck...taking the IDPA ideal of "shoot how you carry" into a whole new level :D

I was on your squad during the pistol portion and was wearing a black Glock Shooting Sports cap and a black fleece vest: sorry I didn't introduce myself. My gray beard is yet another distinguishing feature ;)

I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures of you. I was trying not to take pictures of anyone I didn't know because I knew there were some undercover agents there and some people are funny about cameras. Just let me know next time.

Yeah, I was thinking about taking the Awerbuck class with the camera on so I wanted to see if it got in the way or knocked around. It wasn't so bad but I started to put it down more towards the end of the day. That huge lens gets heavy fast.

The last stage shooting the steel at 75yds was the problem. I def. need better sights on the Mossberg.

Don't feel bad...the center one ate my lunch, too, for the same reason. Had a front optic and mid-bead...the zero was the FO over the mid-bead...but that went out the window, literally, at that port, trying to keep the slug vs. birdshot management working.

Stopped by Bass Pro on the way home for a set of adjustable Hi-Viz that oughta solve that problem for next time.

...We're gonna have a next time, right guys? I'm already looking forward to Trail Run II. :D

So how much is this thing going to cost next time I go? I think they said something about having to join the club? What's the deal?

I had a blast, had to cut out early from the shotgun match but still enjoyed it. 4th in my first match, guess I can't complain too much. IDPA is where its at. Way more tactically minded shooting.
