I have been able to make progress on my Jeep and finally got the leaf springs put on and took the body to a body shop about 3 weeks ago. I got a 2.5 inch lift kit from BDS. It’s just leaf springs and shocks but they have great reviews and will allow me to put a little larger than stock tires on it. I started the rebuild one year ago this month and I wish I was a little further ahead but truth be told I’m happy for what I accomplished. The amount of work that has gone into cleaning parts and painting them has been crazy. I’m trying to stay ahead of myself so I’ll paint the parts I plan on working on a week or so out. The other thing that has taken a long time is finding someone who will do the body and paint work. I finally found a guy in Franklinton who has agreed to do it. I know someone who used him and said he does good work. I met him when I brought the Jeep and he’s a really nice guy. Ive also been working on my brake upgrade this week. I’m replacing the nine inch brakes with 11 inch drums that self adjust. It will be a big improvement as far as stopping goes. Also worked on some steering components. Oh I almost forgot, installed my new front and rear bumper. I’m staying motivated and moving forward on the restoration.
