I highly doubt it hurt him at all, it was just a panic reaction to seeing your hand disappear between a shark's teeth. Their teeth are typically razor sharp, and as is the case with most cuts in such a circumstance, it's almost entirely painless.

Now, if the thing was crushing his fingers in that tiny little mouth-- yeah, that probably hurt. But it sounds more like screams of fear than pain, and his hand doesn't look bad at all when he gets it out.

That hook is not worth it and it is obviously not effecting its ability to bite ****... Some things are more important, fingers for example.

That fog horn brought back memories. We left them on constantly on unmanned platforms. Cut them off while we were there working. Cut them on when we left. I'm willing to bet they are tied up to an unmanned platform.
