What are your thoughts on the two? Differences and all. I'm looking at two 1911's and one has a LDA and the other a standard DA trigger. I was just wanting to know the differences and your thoughts on it.
The LDA, is a great design for somebody who is either used to shooting revolvers OR would like to carry a 1911 but does not like the fact of them heaving to be carried coked and locked with an exposed hammer.
I had a PXT Carry with the LDA and the trigger was sweet once you learn to "stage" your hammer as Todd Jarrett calls it she is a very nice setup with a very light trigger pull but long travel, unfurtunetly due to the design you cannot upgrade triggers, hammers etc etc etc which is something most people do at some point or another with a 1911.
I have 2 p12 pars, one lda and one sa. If I was to carry one for self defence, I would go with the lda. No exposed hammer, longer trigger stroke, and I prefer a hinged trigger myself. My p12 does have a really crisp trigger, more of a range gun IMO. I like the lda idea, if you have to carry a para it is the way to go.
