Must be pretty bad if cnn thinks it can help Gun rights.

The problem -- and this is where O'Kelly comes in -- is that he says roughly 60% of the guns in America do not have a single part that falls under that definition. The AR-15, for example, has a split receiver -- one upper and one lower. Neither meets the requirement on its own.

"For 50 years, ATF has been making this square peg fit in the round hole," O'Kelly told CNN, "when, in fact, it doesn't."

I wonder how widespread this kind of willful ignorance is at the ATF. I assume I'm not alone in generally loathing the agency for its nonsensical, overreaching regulation and poor history of enforcement (like Ruby Ridge), but trying to be non-biased is really difficult when you look at things like the directors meeting with Biden's transition team to quietly discuss further regulation (pistol braces, anyone?). I wish there were more people like Dan O'Kelly at the ATF.

I’ve been saying this sort of thing for years. If you want to learn about how things work... ask an expert. Want to understand firearms, as a gunsmith.
Want to understand viruses, ask the guy who has spent his life studying virus’s.

But unfortunately, in many areas.... Some agencies have Bozo’s who are clueless of the mechanics of the problems making incredibly poor decisions.
Unfortunately, it’s somewhat widespread. Not universal, but widespread.
