The only thing this place has going for it is proximity.

And it isn’t utilized like it used to be(gun show meetups, lunch hangs, member range sessions etc)

Something like A monthly ruck around the LSU lakes followed by dinner and beers would go a long way to enhancing the community.

Wish we had an American pioneer corps chapter.

Would be neat to learn some Cajun swamp ****.
Lol, it'd be interesting to see if the average user could even walk around the LSU lakes in one go.....add in a weighted backpack and we'll have a great show LOL
Maybe BS isnt owned by locals? Could be 3 letter agency owned? But i agree with the community activities idea.
It could also be owned by the Chinese. Or, even more realistically, by aliens from Mars.

This time of year, it helps to be any of 3 things:
    1. Early
    2. Fit
    3. Good at heat/hydration management

Granted even the "big" lake loop is only 6 miles but any appreciable amount of time outdoors doing exercise is tough for people this time of year. We don't ruck but we usually start at the tennis courts or Milford and head over to LSU, the levee, downtown and then back via the North Blvd overpass/garden district/Hillsdale or some mixture of those depending on distance and time.

The construction on the west side of the lake at the I-10 overpass still has the road closed. To bypass, you can take Morning Glory to Christian to the Perkin's overpass and take Perkins back to City park. It winds up shortening the loop a little.

Another option for a good ruck exercise is to park by the LSU vet clinic and do some levee repeats. Besides the lack of shade, you're never far from the car.
