    I just got in, I never got a chance to talk to the other lady again to find out what bank, so oh well....

    if it was an issue it would be in the news.

    Was at CapitolOne a little while ago and mentioned to them about any such problems. The teller said they might have had system problems. She said they limit to $500 when there system is down just to cover their butts. So there was no problems with them.

    If you really wanted to be an ass I suppose you could open an account with the check then withdraw your cash and close the account.

    I did that at Regions or Amsouth, not sure what it was at the time.

    I think they wanted to charge me three dollars to cash their check.

    I opened an account, sat down with one of their reps and all that, got all their paperwork/atm card, et cetera in the mail afterwards. Left a dollar in the account, which they eventually sucked out of my "completely free checking account."
