The bill won't pass. It's just partisan busy work. Probably trying to get donations from Bloomberg's Nobody's Town. The Representative should go teach a kindergarten class how to color instead. That would be more productive.
Bruen, Heller, and McDonald; make this attempt by these ideologue dipshits a very dumb and unproductive stunt.

How does it differ from before where Joe Shithead could stick his Glock in a holster on his hip?
Numbers. Now you're telling the rest of the Joe Shitheads that it's ok to stuff a Glock in his Jockstrap...Some probably thought it was against the rules so they wouldn't do it....now the light is Green!

New Orleans Senator tried an amendment to give New Orleans TWO YEARS to implement the rules for Constitutional Carry because they are "unique and unlike any other city in Louisiana ... or the world", he said.

Apparently they are "so special" they can't read and apply the law as easily and quickly as the rest of the state and need "extra time" on the test.

That sounds typical of a DimOcrat.

Senator Blake Miguez authored SB1 Constitutional Carry. He is now filing a Pre-emption Bill that even goes back and removes the "grandfathering" in previous statute. It will remove ALL laws, ordinances, etc not in compliance with state law ... and taxes, permits, etc, if I am not mistaken.

I think it is SB 194.

“Special” as in we have more thug gangsters than any other city in Louisiana?

You know, the training probably matters more than ever now. They are going to be looking for someone to make an example of how bad an idea this was and the first time anyone shoots from ccw without a permit it's going to be them.

I still haven't decided if I'm going to renew my permit or keep it for reciprocity...

This is where it behooves the State to provide, free, basic firearm safety education. That should be the next step going forward.
Yeah it's amazing for how much fear we hear about people not being aware of the law or safety basics, that we haven't once heard someone suggest making it all available in layman's terms on a state web page. Just another hint from the anti crowd that it is about power, not safety

I dunno, I stopped at cafe du monde downtown to grab my wife/kids some beignets. I scan the area and I like to eye out who “potential crime victims” would be. I’m seeing a lot of man buns, skinny jeans, rainbows, or dudes I suspect consume too much soy. New Orleans libs just plain look like crime bait. I don’t know if the new law will help these guys. I’m not sure if they’re locals or tourists. If they’re locals, I’ve lost hope. I think they would have to wait for the police. Everybody who wants to protect themselves already have their permits and everybody I know that have permits don’t look like sissy boys.

I'd bet there were a lot of people who wanted to carry but didn't want to be identified by the state as gun owners by getting a permit. It would be interesting to see the number of applications handed out vs returned before they went online...
