could be by a drive way of some sort... doesnt have to be a highway.

FWIW- The e-mail I got last night said "on the side of the highway by the Morganza Spillway" according to the mystery photographer herself....That would lead one to believe LA 1- and that is not LA 1....

Tell you what, though..I could see where that thing could provide a serious amount of crawfish bait. All you'd need is a good cane knife!

Here's a photo I took outside of Slidell. Should get picked up by the media soon:

Send it in to WAFB & NOLA.COM, quick- they might actually run with it!!! :dogkeke:

Or maybe we could tell them this was spotted near Grosse Tete earlier today by some fishermen....

That pic is fake and I dont even belive its a king brown. It looks like a very skinny green annaconda. I have taken pics of a LOT of snakes outside and they dont come out shinny and plastic looking like that one. The other thing is the shadows. The tree shadows are pointing in a different direction than the head of the "snake"

Lokks like we agree it wasnt around here. If a snake that size was loose im sure i would be getting a call anyway :D. Do they even grow cane in Morganza?

Although reticulate Pythons can get this big, even in captivity, and they are becoming prevalent and thriving in the Everglades, I think this sighting would have caused more of a stir here in Louisiana. The national media is clammoring to get stupid stories like this as a result of the Morganza and Bonnet Carre openings.

So, a person is driving along a road, sees a snake that could eat his/her car, takes a photo of it, and just mosey's along? What about subsequent cars? No news of this? The biggest snake a regular joe would have ever seen in Louisiana?

Remember, this was caught on camera in Louisiana too!

Holy guacamole!!!! In reference to another recent thread, I would shoot and kill this without positively identifying it. Where did you get this terrible picture?

Oh yeah, man...all around the area. (Not in the middle of town, though. :D But down Hwy 10, and on LA 1, it's pretty much everywhere.)

Still, the dreaded "Louisianaconda" hasn't arrived here yet- knock on wood. :eek3::dogkeke:

Several weeks ago while stepping into a boat behind my house, I noticed a large snake between the toons, I did not pay much attention to it. But moments later it swam out from behind the boat and I noticed that it was a Python. It swam across the bayou and disappeared in grass near the bank. I'm guessing that someone's pet got too large and they released it in the area.
