Ok guys so today I got my first GLOCK!
It is a gen 3 model 17. It was an Orleans parish deputies duty weapon and now it is mine (:
It does have some wear as it was his duty weapon for 4 years but it's a GLOCK right? Lol
I can't wait to get out on the range and give it a go.
Are there any parts etc I should change on the gun? I see a lot of talk about connectors and maybe a few other things.
    Well here it is.

Replace all springs, clean, lube, shoot. Repeat the clean, lube, shoot often.

Glocks are great! I would like to hear from some law enforcement guys out there on what the average round count is for a service weapon. A police friend of mine back in Georgia told me he averaged well below 1,000 rounds a year on his service G22 which include both qualifying and recreational shooting. I also have a virgin Glock 19 with over 11,000 rounds through it with no damage to parts and no spring replacements of any sort.

Mr. James give me one minute I will get you that serial number.
He "said" he shot 60 times each year for 4 years and that is it......

Dang nothing from this guy is matching up then.... He said he had to buy this gun new because Orleans parish doesn't issue them so he bought it new with the Leo discount and has been carrying it for 4 years.

I personally would have paid less than what what you did, but not by much. A 13 year old handgun Definitely needs all the springs changed, IMO. I'd change out that extractor while you're at it too. It looked to me like it was getting worn. I'm not the glock-man though, JBP is.

Thanks everyone for the help. I'm gonna have Mr.James check it out for me. I'm thinking about stippling the grip or maybe try some of that grip tape. Gonna try to shoot this weekend. If anyone would like to join let me know.

I want to thank Mr.James publicly for his services to my handgun. He changed all my springs including the exchange to a new 3.5 connector. The trigger is SWEET now!

What's up with that magazine? Why not a flat floorplate? The one in the above picture looks like the 10 rounders for my G30 .45.

It is a GLOCK 17 round mag with a +2 ext. so after I chamber one round, add one to the mag and re-insert it I have 20 rounds total available.
