Need a new safe......

Anyone have a place to get a decent safe? Looking to spend around $400. I hear that you should get one a few gun sizes bigger because they run small.

Experiences and prices would help as well, whatever info you can provide.

I recently bought one of these and I'm pretty happy with it. Its more of a locker than a safe though. I had to add a half inch block under the legs of my bed to get enough clearance to slide it under there.

I 2nd tractor supply. They carry winchester safes and are a good buy for the $ especially if you catch them on sale. What i would consider to be the best information to consider before buying a safe, take the # of guns it says it holds and cut that in half because you will more than likely use one half of the safe for other things. I have a 24 gun, but only have space for 12 because i use the other side for ammo, and other things i want to keep locked up. One nice feature of the winchester's at TS is the door sleeve they come with.

The thing is very heavy,.. at least 200 lbs empty.

If I had extra money I would have gone for the WarDog though.
