    Hi everyone!

I just moved here to New Orleans from NY. I do a lot of range shooting, mostly handguns but some rifle. Looking forward to buying some evil hi-cap mags for my collection. I do a lot of buying and selling since I always want something else and I get bored with what I have quickly.

I'm going to do some research here to find a good range and a good LGS.

    Hey man.... baby steps.....

Welcome to New Orleans. Just wait a couple weeks for the humidity to kick in and you’ll really get a feel for the city.

That being said, if you live in Nola. St. Bernard indoor, Jefferson gun and shooters club are going to be your closest ranges. With honey island being about 45 minutes away.

Thanks for the info. I've been to St. Bernard. I liked it.

My wife spent many summers as a child in New York since her Mother owned a business in New Orleans and New York.
She has always wanted to take a trip there with the family so our kids could experience it, I've been a thorn in her plans regarding that trip LOL.
We dont go anywhere I can not legally carry.
I wont leave the house Naked so I am damn for sure not going to a state that demands I have to be undressed to visit.

So what brings you down to the boot ? Work, military or just the sportsmans Paradise ?

We've been coming down here for years. NY is getting worse by the day. It was just time.

It has been almost 50 years since I was in New York. I spent some time in 1963 on 4th. Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.
I roamed and visited all Boroughs but I got an official escort out of Harlem one night and told I did not belong there.

4th Ave is a pretty ritzy area these days. You'll need about $2m for a place there now.
