I just finished reading a great book "Long Shot" by Azad Cudi. He was a Kurdish sniper who fought against ISIS when they invaded his homeland. He describes the war in the streets against ISIS in northern Syria (historic Kurdistan). The book also has lots of great info about the Kurdish people, culture, etc. Born in Iran, Cudi migrated to England as boy and became a journalist. Then he went to Syria when war started to fight for his people. He describes the hellish street fighting conditions using old weapons against a well-funded, well-equipped jihadist army. Very inspirational book.
