My 99 1500 2wd, 180,000 miles still got 19.5 highway and 16 in town; 5.3 v8 that didn't drop cyclinders
Chevy 1500 4x4
Everyone I talked to that has this truck said they get average 17-18 mpg
Brand new all factory straight off the lot truck, no loads hauled
It'll get a little better . Wait it out and see how it performs after another 500 miles .
Joe,
What is the gearing on the rear-end. A very low gear used for pulling might be part of your problem.

Have you hand calculated the mileage? The lie-o-meter doesn't tell the whole truth.2013 ram 2500 4x4 diesel
Completely bone stock
Factory tires 265/70/17
Pic I took while going down a road right here in saint Amant (black bayou, and no one was around so I snapped a quick one)!
Interstate cruising to Tennessee. I even have the video my fiancé took for me to support this. But here is a screen shot.
I have driven this truck LIKE a truck, since the day I bought it. I do not baby it but I do not abuse it.
I only have 16k on the ODO.
Drive the truck man, floor it some, pull something with it etc. because that is terrible. Maybe they will recall something causing this lol

Lol I hear ya
I use my trucks, pull with them ect. The avg fuel had me worried so I was seeing if driving real easy would make a diff! It's weird because after pulling my work trailer, I'm now getting 16 mpg avg, getting better
4 X 4 wont get better than about 16-18 after its broken in and the fuel mileage indicator gets some good data. After 2k -3k miles.I have 3 friends with 2014 Chevy/GMC 1500 4x4 crew cabs.
Empty, no trailer, hwy driving 65-75 they are getting 19-21mpg.
Average combined they say 16-18mpg driving easy.
He shouldn't be getting that low even with 3.92, that is approaching 4.10 mileage and no truck comes stock with that.
