Does anyone fish the Pearl river areas and around Slidell area creeks. Looking for freshwater areas for bass and catfish will be moving in a year. Fished around the Rigolets, Lake Catherine, Bourne etc. for reds and specks.

Yes, by locks 1&2, you can also go to Picayune and launch as Walkai Bluff,
be carefull just like any boating as people have lost their lives at all of the locations. I know they get silted in and people unaware are thrown out of their boats.

Walkai even post signs due to the current and it states many people have drowned or something to that, just dont shoot the rapid, some do most dont. If you are familiar with the rapid, you know what I am talking about it is actually a wier.

Any good catfishing in the area? The pearl looks like it holds some good catfish. How deep is it? On average. I try to go after really big Blue cats and Flatheads here in Georgia with large baits and hooks to go with them.
