Well I got myself 250 Quail eggs, now what?

Do you boil them like a normal egg? same time frame?

Anybody know how to get some really hot pickled eggs out of these?

I'm new to this but love the way they taste, just hate the price on them, lol.

    Thanks for any help.

I like mine with a little kick and got tired of paying $8 for a jar. I found some people in Scott that sold them for $20 for 250 of them. Went to get them on one of my motorcycles so I ended up with a few broke, but still 7 jars full after boiling.
We'll see how the pickling goes in a few days.
Looking forward to pulling the sheets over the wifes head at night, lol.

LMAO you cruel SGT_Kramer.......I pull the sheets too.................But she likes the pickled quail eggs as much as I do..........We pay 10$ a quart for a jar stuffed full.......I bought some quail eggs years ago for .05 cent a piece and screwed the batch up......very hard to peel !!!!!!! So I just stuck with chicken eggs and I also use small whole beets and throw the kitchen sink in for seasoning !!!!!!!

I'm gonna try 'em. When I was back at "home" in Eunice, they would run a toothpick through the boiled egg before they put them in the pickle. I think I will try that and see if it helps.

I heard that you pickle them with the shell on then peel the rubbery shell off after.

Nah. Seen eggs pickled all my life and never shell on. Just gotta have the right recipe of heat and vinegar after the proper boiling technique which can help with the peeling of the eggs. I'm gonna see if I can get you guys the right timing on the boiling part to help with the peeling. Can't possibly be past 4 minutes unless you do a large batch at once - which is plausible. Gonna buy eggs and jars tomorrow. Chinese market is gonna be open, I hope. They have eggs and jars.
