I know there are alot of adverbs in the title but I am really considering getting a new play toy in a pistol caliber. This carbine http://www.emf-company.com/store/pc/THE-J-R-CARBINE-c282.htm has peaked my interest. I was thinking about either the 9mm or .45. I was hoping someone had some insight on them. I have read multiple other forum posts about it and the carbine started out rather rough and it seems the manufacturer listened to the complaints and over time has ironed everything out. The latest reports are mostly positive, I just wanted some local knowledge before I pull the trigger.

Also if anyone has any suggestions for who I should go to to order one, if I choose to get this carbine, it would be greatly appreciated too.

If you're gonna spend that kind of money and what pistol caliber I would suggest the Beretta CX4 Storm. I have one in a 9mm and I LOVE IT!

I thought the Hi-point uses their "factory" pistol mags in the carbine, so that might be the reasson for them to be single stack 10 rounders so they can re use existing inventory which are California Safe LOL.

not sure why you'd make it a single stack at all. it's not like you need it to be thin to conceal or something.

Hi Point tooled up to make them during the Assault Weapons Ban, and redesigning the rifle and changing up the factory would stop production for a while along with driving the price up.

I have a Hi-Point carbine. Not too shabby for a dirt cheap carbine. Nothing I would rely on, but it makes a great plinker. Next stop is to get a can for it and make it a quiet plinker
