When you purchase a gun online, I understand they only ship to gun dealers instead of a residence. So what do you do first? Go to your local dealer and ask if a gun can be shipped to their store? I've been checkin out guns on budsgunshop.com and saw something I wanted for a good price.

Anyone had experience on purchasing a gun online?

I'd make sure you have a local dealer that will do the transfer before you do anything, then you contact the dealer and arrange payment. Let your local dealer know that you paid and they will exchange FFL's, they'll let you know when the gun comes in and you go fill out your paperwork.

FYI, Morey at 10-8 Tactical has the best price of FFL transfers I believe. $20.
Jefferson hit me for $30 for my K98k (Morey wasn't open yet) and Gretna Gun wanted $50!!

Don't assume your dealer will do the transfer. If he sells the same gun in the store it would be rude to ask him to do a transfer. Precision charges $25 for a transfer. It was quick and easy.

It is rude, but if he can't match the price you are buying for, at least he makes money off the transfer.

I will give you one small bit of advice- if at any point during your sale you see the name TGScom- run away. They are the biggest source of headaches in the firearm shipping industry. The price is NOT worth it.

    YMMV

I called J&J today and it rings about 6 times and then says the number has been disconnected. They haven't responded to an e-mail I sent Fri. I wonder what happened to them.
