I'm a fan of Weatherby rifles, but not necessarily the price of Weatherby calibers' ammo. Would it be possible to re-barrel a wby, to another caliber that shares the bolt face? Do they use proprietary dimensions (threads, etc)?

Thinking about changing a 300 wby to 300 win mag. They share the same bolt face, so I'm hoping that simplifies things.

Yes that's not a problem , but you could buy a lot of wb ammo for the cost of a 2-300$ barrel and 150-200 installation charge
