    I have a couple of the Bushnell which are actually made by EOTech. They really are identical down to the mfg sticker on the bottom of the unit, with the only exception being the lack of the protective metal shroud. Since I'm not an *operator* and not likely to bang it into anything I didn't go the added expense. I do have one EOTech, a 517, that I bought on sale specifically to use with a magnifier since its controls are on the side, but other than a situation like that, I couldn't justify it.

    Look into the used aimpoints, 2 series. You won't find a better deal. Better battery life than the eotech, much more robust (xps2 excluded) and more mounting options. I sold all my eotechs a while ago because of reliabilty problems. Just mho
