I hope it's accurate. The media doesn't have the greatest track record for portraying history accurately.

Events of history are open to interpretation. The outcome is obvious to all but what the cause was and how things went down are not objective. History is written by the winners and all that. Saying who is accurate depends on your own point of view. I have no idea who did this special but I saw it was on and just wanted to pass it along.

EDIT: Just started and the British accent of the narrator makes me think this will not be told how we might like.

This is how America won our freedom over the Redcoats...

    Nice!

The first two parts of the film/series shown today were pretty interesting. I like seeing another perspective on the war. Basically it's "how Britain lost" rather than "how America won". It seems to focus on mistakes made by the British. I like the use of the reenactors.

At 3:00pm tomorrow (Sunday) on LPB1 they're showing the first part of a two hour special called "Rebels and Redcoats: How Britain Lost America". The second part comes on next Sunday at the same time.

Didn't catch it but they only lost the war which they reignited immediately afterwards by encouraging privateers to pirate US flagged ships (Barbary Wars) and then the War of 1812 and then again with the US "Civil War".

Economically The British Crown won. And they are gobbling up US interests - particularly defense companies via BAe.
