I have been thinking of reloading for some time now. Not to save money but more as a form of relaxation that fits with my like of pistol shooting. I shoot around 3- 400 combined rounds of 9mm, .45, 38 per month. What I would like is to observe or take a course for the safety aspect of reloading. I live in the Ponchatoula area.

Find a friend who reloads and watch. Get a few manuals and read the instructions carefully. The Lee manual is what i read to learn initially. There is also a ton of information on YouTube. (Take it for what it's worth.) Good luck

Really, read a couple of manuals and see what is going on. Then, start by walking. Load per the manual, using the same bullet as the manual, and work up until the load cycles your gun 100%. No max loads, no optimum loads, just simple working loads as you learn what you are doing.
Reloading is not tricky and safety issues come from the reloader not paying attention.
If reading doesn't do it for you, then go to a class (knowing the basics when you go in).

Thanks for everyone's input. I have Lee's modern reloading and Lyman hand loading plus some YouTube seemingly good and some not so good videos.

Read your books. Then do yourself a big favor and speak with Bryan or Lanny at LA Gun in BR. That really would be worth your drive. You would be able to get real time help when some thing goes side ways, and it will. You are going to have pride in your own production. Have fun!
