Up for sale is the second of a series of four firearms I am selling for a widowed neighbor.
As I am not making a dime off of these, all sales will be local, in the Algiers/Gretna area.
This is a Remington Targetmaster single shot rifle. Barrel code 'XJ' puts this at December of 1940 production.
I have cleaned up this rifle. I washed the stock with hot water and dish soap then applied a couple coats of paste wax.
The metal parts I cleaned as normal. It was all buried under years of dust and specks of wall paint. I imagine this rifle spent decades leaning in a corner somewhere.
The stock has dings and scrape marks, and the metal is missing some bluing. The bore is clean, bright and strong. The crown has no apparent flaws. All normal for a rifle that is Eighty-One years old. See the pictures for any other condition .
Perfect rifle to train a new shooter with. Good trigger. Functioned with the one CB short I fired in my ballistic laboratory.
This link has a few more photos I didn't include.
