    Question for you guys.

After looking at the specs, 6.5 Grendel is essentially a necked down 7.62 X 39 case.

I am curious if there would be a series of dies and possibly a trimmer to convert 7.62 X 39MM into 6.5 Grendel.

Similar to how you can trim and shape a .223 case into 300BO.

AK brass is cheap, 6.5 G is not.

    Anyone have thoughts on this?

I'm experimenting with this right now just for the hell of it. I put the fired 7.62 brass through a 7.62x39 resize die before putting it through a Grendal sizing die, then I trim the brass to size. I'm not presently trimming them down to minimum length because they seem to get a little shorter after fire forming. The advice on the Web is that it's not really worth it unless you have a lot of 7.62 brass already on hand. It's also reported that the case volume in converted brass is less though I haven't checked that yet. Still fire forming the first batch. With primers at a premium I likely won't do anymore for a while after this first batch of 50. I started this before hunting season and shut it down till the season ended so getting ready to finish it up now.
