RJF 1,000 Yard AK

So, did it group at 1,000 yards? I know they shot it a ways and hit their target but was it 1,000 yards and what kind of group did it get?

We had a Flyer at the the 100 yard sight in but it was a .2" group with out it. We shot it at 300 and 1000 and the grouping stayed under .7 MOA with Black Hills 175 and Gold Medal Match.

Was it a Romanian PSL or a true Dragunov? I heard that a few made it in the country, but they have to be worth a fortune.

Most "Dragunovs" you see are indeed Romanian PSLs, but there's definitely Dragunovs out there. Quite a few guys on the AK Forum have them. They are pricey, but dayum they are sexy.

I missed the show tonight, was it shooting 7.62x54r? .308?

No. The Draguniv is a 'Designated Marksman' rifle, and is nether designed for, used, or capable of that type of accuracy.
(In general, not saying there MIGHT not be ONE out there)

but their accuracy requirements/capabilities are NOT 'snipers'

A shot group less than one inch wide at 1000 yards is awesome.I dident know that any rifle could do that with any round.How many rounds were in the group?

Moa is only at 1" at 100 yards. If you shoot a 7" group at 1000 yards it would be .7 moa. Still an awesome achievement. I don't think any rifle can hold 1" at 1000 yards.

Oh ok with that "." infront of the 2 and 7 I thought it was tenths of a inch.I have trouble keeping my PSL in a grapefruit size group at 200 yards and thats with sandbags on a cement table.With open sites.A seven inch group is still amazing at 1000 yards.
