Rock Island hammer help

Just bought a new RIA 1911 G.I. model and have not fired it yet.
When the slide is locked back and I release it the hammer drops to the half cock position. I have also put snap caps in and it still does it. What is wrong, how do I fix this?

does the hammer drop when you pull the trigger after releasing the slide?

Fixed
It was the sear spring pressure; guess it was not enough pressure on it.
