They do exist! Been looking for awhile and figured I'd share. This one came into field and stream in Lafayette. Quite possibly one of the best rifles you can buy with the most features for the money and it came in kryptek highlander! It was the only one they recieved so far. When I saw it I assumed it was .308 and asked when they would expect the 6.5 creedmoor versions to arrive and he informed me that it was 6.5 and actually remembered me asking about it a couple of months ago when I saw them popping up online. Couldn't possibly walk away from it.

Anyway super sweet deal, if it shoots anywhere near where my 18" 5R .308 10 PT-SR does this thing is going to be incredible. If the weather would hold up I'd follow this with a range report this weekend.

Sweet. Be sure and give us a range report when you can. I really like my FCP-SR as well. Just dropped it in an MDT chassis and put a Nightforce BR on it. I figure when I shoot this barrel out I'll decide on 6.5 Creedmoor. For now I'm just loving it where it is.

Some pictures next to my 10 PT-SR. Notice the 6.5 10 FCP-SR has the 20" fluted barrel and the PT-SR with 18" non-fluted (but 5-R rifled). Actually the 308 has a slightly thicker barrel (very slightly) measured at the same few places on both barrels.

The PT-SR stock is almost identical in shape, dimensions and sling/bipod attach points but lacks the aluminum framed accustock that the FCP-SR has.

The FCP-SR has the top bolt release and resultantly machined rear right side of the reciever where the PT-SR has the newer bottom trigger guard release.

On that note the FCP also recieves all metal trigger guard and magwell controls...PT has all plastic.

9 round capacity on the 6.5 10 FCP-SR (yes i tried jamming that 10th in there but had feeding problems on first round and decided against it) vs. The 5 round on the 308 10 PT-SR.

Both share the tactical extended bolt knob.

Both seem to share the same top rail.

All this metal in the stock and action does come at a price and the 18" barreled 10 PT-SR 308 weight at 7 lbs 8.1 oz equates to almost exactly 15 ounces lighter than the 20" fluted barreled 6.5 FCP-SR's 8 lbs 7.3 oz weight. For comparison purposes my 26" fluted barreled Remington sendero SF II in 7mm mag bare with only talley rings weighs in at 8 lb 16 oz. It also is far less "portable" than the two savages due to it's increased barrel length (however it is still a remarkable long-range rifle!).

There's my bench impression of both of them so far. I can tell you the 5R 10 PT-SR .308 has already printed many 1/2"-or-better 5-shot groups so far with me at the trigger (at astounding velocities for such a short barrel) so this FCP has it's work cut out for it at next range day. However, my last predator trophy hunter 6.5 creedmoor from savage shot a 3/8" 4-shot group (also an incredible rifle) so I know they have their homework done on the cartridge thus far.

You are right about the magazine. Savage calls it a 10 rd but it won't go there. They also cost a fortune when you can even find them. That's one of the reasons I put mine in a chassis so I could get rid of that and use decent BM. You might want to pull the screws for the rail while it is new and either replace with harder ones, lube, or loctite them. I think EGW makes the rail. Mine came with 0moa and when I went to a 20moa rail the screws were soft and rounded out (PITA).

I went with Nightforce from Interstate Guns on mine. Fit well and the screws are hardened instead of pot metal. Went with their rings as well.

Awesome factory rig. I dig the detachable mag and the 20" barrel for hunting in a stand. Looks like a really excellent factory offering. The 6.5 Creedmoor is IMO the best "do all" caliber on the market today. Faster, further with less drop and drift than a 308 with less recoil, what's not to like? It is the "new" .308 IMO. Sweet find. coppercreek.com, primeammo or senderoammo is some places to find rounds to feed it if you have any trouble. I'm sure it will be a great shooter, congratulations.

Broke in using the shoot/clean/dry/oil for first 10 shots then every 2 shots after until 20 rds. Then cleaned every 5...and shot the oiled flier off targets which is why I was only shooting 4 rd groups. Burned up about 50 129gr SST Superformance in the process. Forgot my chronograph! Was angry about that.

The right and left groups are without suppressor and are 4 shots. The right group aimed at bullseye, center group aimed at '9' and left group at '8' at 100 yds. The center group is 3 shots but using my form 1 .308 suppressor. Still quite loud but was troubled that the group didn't retain it's tightness. And also strange that it strung vertically. I'm guessing because the suppressor hole is so much larger than projectile is the issue (.385 suppressor vs. .264 bullet).

Right group (bullseye) is less than half MOA but these results were repeatable and I did it 3 times at 100 all sub MOA by a large margin. I was shooting from a rickety picnic table that I strapped against my 4 wheeler to hold it at least enough to shoot from.

Then shot at 200 yds but honestly was off of my hood kinda standing on my tip-toes. Did not retain sub 1/2 MOA accuracy but instead was about 1 MOA average (I blame my hold/position here...not the rifle). Factory rifle, factory loads, nothing to complain about!

With 20 MOA mount there is tons of room to dial. I'll get that info in a bit.

200 yds 3 SHOTS - measured exactly 2" (1 MOA). Also aiming at orange target and didn't touch scope turret so it looks almost spot on with textbook 2.9" drop from 100 yd zero.
