Seat belt ticket cost?

Sorry but if I don't want to wear my seatbelt I shouldn't have to. I happily ride my motorcycle and accept the risk. Seat belt laws are another way that our rights are being slowly eroded without us seeing it. And yeah I've heard the entire medical cost/ loss of vehicle control/ cost to family all of those. Feel free to add anymore you can think of, I've heard those also. I don't care. I know I'm more likely to die in a crash without my seatbelt, but the government shouldn't tell me to wear it.

For the fine to go up on the second ticket, they have to know about the first ticket. Seatbelt tickets don't go on your record, so one jurisdiction doesn't know about any seatbelt tickets you might have received in another jurisdiction. If you get two in the same jurisdiction, someone has to physically look up to see if you have another one. Most of the time they charge you like a first offender.

seatbelts don't always work... my 3 brothers and I were all in serious wrecks and each time LE said if we had out seat belt on we would not be walking around today...

better than NC. Here, court costs just went up to $190. They legislature is funding spending off the backs of speeders.
