I recently changed my SKS stock to a Tapco and after I finished I noticed a small spring leftover and I do not know where it goes. It will dry fire. The spring is about 2" to 3" long.
Any help would be much appreciated. I looked at videos on Youtube and did not see one like it when the guns were disassembled.

can you post a pic that would help.

The only one I can think of that size is the one that goes around the piston under the sight. Remove your gas tube and see if that spring is there.

I just put a Tapco on mine. That spring goes in the stock at the pistol grip area . It is
there to provide tension on the trigger group at the release. There should be one on your wooden stock in the same location.
