I lost a big water oak with a almost 40' straight section to it. I'm in 70123. Is there anywhere within a reasonable distance that would come for it and be able to let it dry out and mill it? It's about 6' in diameter at the narrow end.

I had a huge sycamore tree uproot and fall from my neighbor’s yard. I finished delivering the choice sections to a friend and I’m promised a nice set of bowls.
Times like these make me wish I had a bandsaw mill.

I could ride around my neighborhood and aquire enough grade A wood to supply furniture making for the next 20 years.
Chances are every ounce of it is going to be put through a wood chipper.

If nobody comes to get it for milling, I'd love to cut a 2 or 3" thick piece off of it to work with some resin and make a nice large table with it

Ever thought of buying a portable sawmill? I think it could quickly pay for itself. A couple of buddies and I are looking at one. We can't individually justify it but with three of us investing, it will probably work. Here's one of the ones we are looking at:

Are you sure you were looking and watching the sawmill in that youtube? :eek3:
