Smith & Wesson 15/22 problems.

I'm not certain of the designation of the rifle in question. I'd assumed there was a M&P .22 but they're calling this one the 15/22

There was a recall several years ago to install the upgrade blue springs. I had an OOB shortly after buying my 15-22 & sent it right in. Haven't had a single problem since. It sounds like these rifles were never upgraded.

The only trouble I have is the magazines are always empty....

When was the recall? I have a 15-22 and have never had any issues with it but am wondering if it was bought after they did the recall.

They also had issues with barrel nuts being loose from the factory.

The recall was maybe a year after the rifle hit the streets. (Long enough ago that I can't remember when). Pop it open and check the recoil spring. If it's blue you have the upgraded parts.

There is a temporary ban on the 15/22 at appleseed shoots. Problems with the trigger pin and sear pin working loose and causing AD's, even with the safety on. GW
