Interesting new offering from Smith & Wesson:

In short: a Shield-sized M&P that is chambered for .380. Instead of the stupid lever safety, they've gone to a backstrap safety (sort of like a 1911). The "EZ" in the name suggests that it's easy to rack the slide; a common gripe among shooters with smaller hands.

Thoughts? I've been absolutely delighted with my 9mm Shield, and my love affair with my Glock 42 makes this a tempting gun to add to the herd, since I'm finding that I really enjoy shooting .380.

Geez I thought I had seen it all. Interesting but strange at the same time.

Makes a lot of good sense to me. Smith & Wesson will now have a gun sized slightly larger than the Glock 42, that will be as easy (if not easier) to rack. That will attract buyers that find 9mm offerings too difficult to handle.
