The Wire is my favorite series ever. The person she portrays isn't far off how she is in real life. One of the producers saw her in a bar during taping and hired her for the role of Snoop. Her and Omar are two of the best characters on that show.

The wire is such a good show because of the realism the production crew manages to maintain. Most of the characters are based on real people and most of the stories told are based on real events. There was a scene where omar jumped from a 4 story window and didn't get hurt. Turns out in real life it was a 6 story building, but the producers thought no one watching would believe it. lol http://www.cracked.com/article_19999_5-true-stories-cut-from-movies-being-too-unrealistic_p2.html. This is why when I lived in Maryland and had to go to Baltimore I stayed the hell outta the blocks and tried not to even be in the city at night.

I knew it couldn't be real life. I've never ran into a guy working at Home Depot that knew anything about the products he was selling.
