Anyone have any experience with the Springfield M1A by chance? Specifically the cqb variant. Just trying to get some opinion as I’m heavily considering one. Thanks!

Ditto! The scout is the absolute shortest that I would go. Don't let nostalgia get in the way of function. It has an incredible history, and I love mine, but it is certainly not a CQB tool. Reliable/ consistent optic mounting is next to impossible, leaving it wanting at any appreciable range. CQB is out of the question unless you were going to suppress it. In a life safety situation I don't wish to be deaf; I need my 5 senses. I collect them out of nostalgia and appreciation, but there are infinitely better platforms out there now. If you are looking for a single multi-purpose gun, the SCAR and Stoner surpass it.
