I see it as well. I never understood how someone's spouse is relevant if she didn't paid for it nor owns it.

I think it’s more of an excuse to say let me think about it a little longer while attempting to add some humor. I’ve purchased several guns over the years and I don’t ever recall calling my wife to get her approval first. A couple time I may have called friends seeking approval but never the wife lol.

I agree. “ I want to think about it” thing.
Just say….” I’m gonna think about it, consult a buddy.”
Just funny how often it’s said.

You know, different relationships deal with money differently. I'd never been married before, but my wife had been twice. When we married, it took her a long time to stop feeling like she had to ask me about every purchase she was considering outside of routine expenses/bills.

And as far as the wife goes, I've bought several guns because they might be something she would like better than the last one she didn't know about .
