Pay for it

Work on the State paperwork

Work on Federal Form 1

Take 2xForm 4 to chief law enforcement officer and get it signed

Get 2x fingerprint cards

sign 2x certificate of compliance

get it all together and mail it to the NFA with a $200 check.

When it all comes back, pick up the can.

WOW.. 4 weeks, I got mine back in 1... BTW its the same unit that handles CHP's. They are probably a little taxed atm.

Go ahead and send in your form 4 now. Fax the state paperwork in 12 weeks when the examiner asks for it. Will save you a month. I have personally done that three times.

My form one is going out tomorrow. I just learned in the past week that I could send without the state paperwork and fax it when it goes into problem status.

Are you sure the examiner will ask for it?

I called them yesterday about LA state paperwork and I was told that it wasn't required to go along with the Form 1/4.....?

I dropped from Form 1 off with the Bossier Sheriff last tuesday, the secretary said maybe it'll be signed by friday.....sure takes a while.

if you already have it, might as well send it with the form 4.

ive been told they dont need it

Update...went "pending" on 22 JUNE. Question - After it goes "pending", how long does it take to get the approved paperwork back w/ the stamp?

My dad and me turned in similar time frame form's....anyway, his was about 30 days post "pending" to get in his hands....mine about the same - Santamaria was the examiner, and she is THE FASTEST at this time {new hire}....

I would say 30-45-60 days from pending to mailbox..depending on examiner.
