I am looking for i6 inch AR-15 barrel for a project.
Since I do not have the tools to drill and pin a front sight base, I found this barrel on the internet http://www.model1sales.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=657

Do any BS members have experience with this barrel and with Model 1 Sales?

I do not want to make an expensive mistake since I have limited funds.

    Thanks in advance !

If you have the extra scratch, I would recommend looking into the two below. I don't have any skin in the 300 BLK game...yet. But, the two manufacturers below have a pretty good reputation.

Thanks for the reply, the Daniel Defense barrel might not be to far of a stretch for me, the Noveske is out of my league.
I will have to call for the DD barrel availability.

I also found this one at DSARMS http://www.dsarms.com/DSA-ZM4-Forge...300BLK---ZM4CBU300SS/productinfo/ZM4CBU300SS/

    :)

Great Price, good people,Number 1 quality work.I started buying WC awhile back and have never even thought
about any other MFG for barrels since.

And don't worry ,it always says out of stock lol,but you can call them. Most of the time they have a batch going out.
If not the wait isn't very long.Ive never waited more than 1-2 months on any bbl.

So using the barrel shown above I should use this gas block http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Gas-Block-Lo-Profile/productinfo/TR-LPGB/ , then I would not have to have tools to pin a gas block, It would secure with set screws and loctite. That would certainly make the barrel assembly easier. Thanks for the pointers !

I believe so.One thing is to make sure when your putting it together to test fire it a few rounds before using the loctite. Some times people don't get the gas tube hole lined up correctly when they pin the tube to the GB.

Also when I line up GB,I usually drill, taper the second hole. The bbl will only come with one taper hole.I don't believe it necessary.I just do it to double secure it.

If your going that direction,id also suggest a nice YHM quadrail. They fit nice and they look nice. They go over the GB easily andyou can purchase the end cap for a fair price to make it even nicer looking. With the YHM,using the set screws, you really don't need loctite for them I don't believe, some people do.JMP.

i'm sure all the barrel listed above are great barrels. i just wanted to mention that Noveske has been playing around with 300BLK for a while, well they called it 300 Fireball. they have a lot of experience in getting these barrels to run right and to run well suppressed. i was going to buy one of the Fireball barrels years ago.
