    Hello all,

I have beat on, heated, oiled, beat some more, and rigged a vice to try and press my 1967 Romy barrel pin out.
Does anyone have a machine shop in BR they would kindly recommend?
Even better would be a good-hearted BSer with a hydraulic press they would kindly let me use(also, in BR or vicinity)?

    Sincerely,
    poor college student

Chris at Red Jacket got the pin out after a beating and heating session. Those guys over there are top notch. They were showing me some of their work. Real quality stuff. May send one of my kits their way. definitely will order any more parts I need from them.
Thanks to rockmup for the recommend

Who is going to press your barrel out? Can they do this also for you? If you are pressing out the barrel.

Not in BR nor do I have a press bump

I can't stress enough the importance of making sure the trunnion is is clamped down tight to a table and use the biggest hammer you can. ( I have a 10lb hammer ) and a short punch close to the diam. of the pin to get it started.

Also, if you have heat go get a plumbers candle. Heat it up (trunnion) and melt the candle on the pin. Walk away and come back after its cooled. Works when most everything else has failed.

I wasn't exactly holding it in my hands while someone hit it with a ball-peen.
used big vice, big mall, fire, urgh. Will try the plumber candle trick if I can't find a shop by school tomorrow.
Is the idea behind that to heat the pin and then shrink it back smaller or just hope it frees up some in the expansion-contraction process.
By the way, got a press at your place? Central aint too far

Send me a ph#. I'm not sure if I'm going out Monday or not, thats why I didn't offer.

The idea is to suck the wax in while its hat and iw works as a lubricant. I've won the battle with many an exhaust manifold bolt that way
