That's been my understanding. No touchy, even if you hit it with your car.
Call me a criminal, but if I hit one with my car, it's going in the trunk and my mouth is going shut about it. I don't like gator, but I know folks who do, and I want the hide.
And I'm sorry... but I do follow conservation laws. I would never hunt out of season (unless I had to choose between that and starving), and I'd never kill an animal for sport. Nor would I hit one on purpose, because most of the front of my car is plastic... but roadkill? I see no moral wrongdoing. And I have my own morals, I don't need them legislated to me.
Come if you must, but only if you must. For the day you find yourself upon my step shall be the night you find peace along Jordan's edge.
There ya go. That's just good conservation as far as I'm concerned. I know I wouldn't advocate or suggest hitting one on purpose, but a good sportsman can't let something like that just go to waste.I've come real close to taking out a couple in the marsh with my mud boat. It's hard to dodge them in those narrow tranausses. If I ever accidentally kill one, you can bet he's coming home with me. The outdoorsman in me cannot in good conscious let that animal go to waste.
I hit one early one morning on Hwy 90 close to Avondale and yes Dakotas can fly.
I've been here in the Calhoun, Ruston, Monroe/Wes Monroe area for a little over two years; since March 2012. I love it here, but Mississippi will always be home to me, even if I end up where I really want to be, in the upper Rockies. Is this a regular occurrence down here?
I swear, every day since I moved down here, I learn some weird new **** about Louisiana (and her inhabitants). I shoulda moved here years ago.
Yep, I've hit them close to Raceland, Desalmands, Bayou Dularge,Creole. They have a nasty habit of crawling up on the warm asphalt at night. Is this a regular occurrence down here?
