Surf Fishing in Grand Isle

Did some Surf Fishing out at Grand Isle State park today. Got out there late, and didn't even make a cast until about noon. Started out just wading out and using some jigs with imitation shrimp and cocahoes. Had a few bites, but didn't catch anything. We then moved deeper and got up on the jetties and started catching them with topwater lures. Every cast we were getting some action. Then about 30 minutes later it got rougher out on the water and the wind and waves picked up. The fish stopped biting after that. Pretty good day for fishing without a boat.

You could have caught more at work using a chicken leg.

Lots of fun, and will be doing that again some time soon!

It was crazy how bad we were killing them with the topwater. People all around were using shrimp and other jigs and weren't catching ****. Once we started using topwater we just started reeling them in one after another.
